Pickens Recognizes, Congratulates Francine Bryson
Pickens mayor thanks Francine Bryson, finalist on "The American Baking Competition" for representing the city so well.

City officials have recognized a Pickens resident who is making the city proud.
Francine Bryson was a finalist on CBS' “The American Baking Competition” and her delicious treats are bringing a bit of notoriety to the city.
Pickens Mayor David Owens presented Bryson with a Letter of Recognition Thursday morning as Fox Carolina filmed its “Celebrate the Carolinas” segment in Pickens.

“It is with great pride that I issue this “Mayor’s Letter of Recognition” on behalf of the City of Pickens,” the letter reads. “I know it took much courage, confidence, and most importantly, baking skill to be selected as one of ten contestants on the new CBS Network Show “The American Baking Competition” which premiered on May 29, 2013. Once on the show, your baking skills lead you to be one of the three finalists which is a great accomplishment.
“To a national audience, you represented yourself in a way that showed your wonderful baking talent as well as your charm, passion, love of family, and love of southern baking.

“On behalf of the City of Pickens, I congratulate you on your wonderful accomplishment and I also thank you for representing the Pickens community in a very respectful and good ‘ole southern way. I wish you the best in your future endeavors,” the letter concludes.
“We're really proud of you,” Owens told Bryson as he presented her with the letter.
After her on-camera interview, Bryson spoke to Easley Patch about some of her future plans.
Meet Francine Bryson in person Tuesday in Easley. She'll be serving as one of the judges at the Easley Farmers Market's Pie-Baking contest. The market holds Tuesday Evening hours from 5pm – 8pm in front of City Hall.
