Powdersville Elementary Celebrates Children's Book Week
Celebration includes Book Character Parade

Powdersville Elementary School participated in Children’s Book Week events during the week of May 13th-17th. This celebration culminated in a Book Character Parade held in the front parking lot of the school. Students and teachers dressed as characters from their favorite children’s books.
There was also a grade level competition among teachers to see which team dressed more creatively and accurately depicted the characters in the book they chose.

Third grade won the competition, dressing up like characters from a Magic School Bus story. Deborah Fowler, media specialist at Powdersville Elementary School, enjoys celebrating Children’s Book week. “I enjoy watching the students and teachers really get into reading and celebrating their favorite books,” Fowler stated.
