Prayer Vigil For Simpson Family This Afternoon

The Dacusvillle community is still in shock after the murders of two area children Tuesday.

Suzanna Brown Simpson is charged with the murders of her daughter, Carly Simpson, 7 and her son, Sawyer Simpson, 5, and the attempted murder of her husband Michael Simpson

A prayer vigil for the Simpson family, led by local churches, will be held at 5:30pm today in the parking lot of Dacusville Elementary School.

The school is just a short distance from the Cherokee Trail home where Carly, Sawyer and their father were found Tuesday.

Both children attended Dacusville Elementary School. Counselors were onhand at the school Wednesday to assist students, faculty and staff with their grief.

Michael Simpson remains in the hospital, with life-threatening injuries, according to Pickens County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Creed Hashe.

Suzanna Simpson is also hospitalized, in fair condition. Sheriff Rick Clark said she is under guard.

Hashe said she will be booked into the Pickens County Detention Center upon her release from the hospital.

Funeral arrangements for the children have not been announced yet.
