Sarah Stegall Wins Easley Farmers Market Pie-baking Competition

It was a tough job....no, wait, it was a sweet job.

A team of eight judges gathered at the Easley Farmers Market Tuesday evening to pick the winners of this year's Easley Farmers Market Pie-Baking Competition.

Sarah Stegall, pictured with Farmers Market Manager Lisa Garrett in the photo gallery, took First Prize and Best in Show.

Stegall won for her Caramel Apple Pie.

Aaron Gollach took 2nd Place in the Adult Division with a Blueberry Lemon Swirl Cream Cheese Pie.

Ashby Burroughs won Third Place with his Apple Pie.

"It was still warm and we need some ice cream to go with it," Garrett told Burroughs as he accepted his award.

Whitney Boll won First Place in the Youth Division with her Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie.

Chloe Wilson won 2nd Place with her Peanut Butter Cookie Pie.

Kristin Smith and her Muscadine Pie won Third Place in the Youth Division.

There were many entries in the contest this year and the judges had their work cut out for them.

"Thank you all for coming out and getting in a sugar coma," Garrett told the judges.
