The first 20 entries will be accepted.

Each pie must be accompanied by its recipe on a 4 X 6 card.

Pies must be made from scratch – no store bought pies or store bought crusts.

Pies entered must be made from scratch.

Please have your pie in a disposable pie plate.

Francine Bryson, a Pickens resident who is currently competing in CBS' The American Baking Competition, will be one of the contest's judges.

Bryson herself won the Easley Farmers Market Pie-Baking contest in its second year.

Judging will be based upon taste, appearance and overall appeal.

Taste is judged on flavor. Appearance is determined on how the pie looks before and after it is sliced, including runniness, firmness and juiciness after the pie is cut. Overall appeal is based on how appealing and impressive the pie is in general.

Complete an entry form and submit it to Easley Farmers Market Manager Lisa Garrett or drop it off at City Hall by July 20.

Entry forms will available at City Hall and at the Farmers Market on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Submit pies on Tuesday, July 23 between 6:30 – 7pm at the Easley Farmers Market. Please let officials know if you need refrigeration.

Judging will begin around 7pm and the winners will announced by 7:30pm.

The other judges will be selected by Garrett.

Judges' decisions are final.
