SWAT Team Attempts to Capture Violent Offender at Powdersville Motel

Anderson County Sheriff's Office officials say there is no threat to the community after the Anderson County SWAT team was called out to the Super 8 Motel on Highway 153 this morning.

Fox Carolina reports that the SWAT team arrived at the motel after receiving information that a violent offender fugitive was staying there.

The team did not capture the fugitive. ACSO officials are not releasing the fugitive's name, as they don't want the suspect to be tipped off.

Two other arrests were made at the motel after drugs were found in a room.
