"Sweet & Greet" Event to Feature Francine Bryson

A local bakery will hold a sweet event with a local celebrity in September.

Easley's With Love & Confection is hosting a “Sweet & Greet” with Francine Bryson, a finalist on CBS' “The Great American Baking Competition.”

The event will be held 11am – 5pm Saturday, September 14

Come out and meet Bryson at the bakery. Don't forget to pick up some sweet treats from With Love & Confection, located at 838 Powdersville Road.

Easley Patch spoke with Bryson earlier this summer, after she became a finalist on the show.

When asked how it felt to be that successful, Bryson, a Pickens native, said that not much had changed for her.

“I'm just me and that's what I love to do and I've done it since I was a little girl,” Bryson said. “It's not a big change for me – I just did it on a bigger scale. I still bake the same ways I've always baked. I still get in the kitchen and I still fuss if it doesn't turn out right – and we still eat it anyway.”

She's hard at work on a cookbook, which she hopes to have out by Christmas or the first of the year.

The cookbook will have some of the recipes fans have come to know Bryson for.

“Definitely the Chocolate Bacon Peanut Butter Pie, Upside Down Apple Pie, Strawberry Decadence Chocolate Cake, just a little bit of everything,” Bryson said. “A few of the recipes are from the show. Most of the recipes have been passed down from my grandmas and mama and great-grandma. I stick with what I was raised with.”
