Teacher of the Year Finalists Announced
Three teachers at Easley schools are in the running to be the next Teacher of the Year for the School District of Pickens County.
The four teachers in the running to be named the School District of Pickens County's 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year have been announced – and three of them teach at Easley schools.
Earlier this summer, the school district announced the 26 district teachers selected as their school's Teacher of the Year. See the full list here.
That list has been narrowed down to four finalists – Barry Burnett of Clemson Elementary School, Jan Burroughs of Easley High School, Amy Byrd of Gettys Middle School and Kelly Ponder of Crosswell Elementary School.

The district will name its Teacher of the Year at its Back-to-School Celebration on Friday, August 16. The three remaining finalists will be named Honor Roll Teachers.
Pickens County's Teacher of the Year will be eligible for the State Teacher of the Year Competition. Darleen Sutton, the district's Teacher of the Year, last year, was named South Carolina's 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year earlier this year.
