UnBirthday Party to Benefit Miracle Hill
With Love and Confection is throwing an UnBirthday Party for kids Saturday and they're collection donations for Miracle Hill Children's Home in conjunction with the festivities.

Party attendees are asked to bring pajamas and other items to With Love and Confection's Party Saturday.
With Love and Confection is throwing an “UnBirthday Party” Saturday afternoon to benefit the kids at the Miracle Hill Children's Home.
The bakery's Veronica Arthur and Erica Romo Woods both have connections to the home, having attended Miracle Hill's Christian School when it was open.

“It has a special place in both of our hearts,” Woods said.
“We still have dear friends from those high school days who keep in touch,” Arthur said.

They were looking for ways to help the children's home and hit upon the idea of throwing an Unbirthday Party, like the ones celebrated by the Mad Hatter in “Alice in Wonderland.”
Each child attending the Unbirthday party is asked a wrapped gift to be donated to the children's home, Woods said.
“We want that to be a brand-new gift,” she said. “At this point, they do not need toys. They actually have a surplus of toys from Christmas.”
Pajamas are what Miracle Hill officials have said the children need.
The needed items are:
-PAJAMAS - sizes 4-T to Teens for boys and girls, lounge pants for teen boys/young adult, and women's pajamas size small/medium.
-HOUSE SHOES/SLIPPERS - all sizes for boys and girls of all ages.
-DUFFLE BAGS - big enough for the children to carry their personal belongings upon leaving the home. NO suitcases, backpacks or oversized duffle bags i.e. army duffle bag.
-CHRISTIAN children's/teen books - please be sure books are written from a christian worldview.
“They say when they come into the home, it's nice to have a nice, clean, warm pair of pajamas when they get there,” Woods said. “They come basically with just the clothes on their back. When they do leave the home, they've got other things they need to carry back with them, so duffle bags are nice to have instead of carrying a black trash bag full of belongings.”
Gifts needn't be marked with what's inside them, but you can if you'd like, Woods said.
Monetary donations will also be accepted during the party. Checks should be made out to Miracle Hill Children's Home.
“We're going to serve cake and tea at the party,” Woods said. “We'll have the Mad Hatter and Alice in attendance. It's a 'Wonderland' theme. Everyone is welcome to bring their cameras to take pictures.
“They can dress in costume with a hat,” Arthur said.
“Yes, they can come dressed as their favorite Wonderland character or wear their maddest hat,” Woods said.
“I'm trying to design a really whimsical cake for the occasion,” Arthur said.
“It's going to be a very grand cake,” Woods said.
She said they hope the Unbirthday Party benefit for Miracle Hill Children's Home will become an annual event for With Love and Confection.
After the party, the gifts will be taken to Miracle Hill, where the children there will receive an Unbirthday party of their own.
“We're excited about it,” Woods said. “We've gotten a good response. We think it's really going to go well.”
She and Arthur hope to provide enough pajamas and other items for all the kids at the home.
“We do want to provide as many pajamas and duffle bags as we can,” Woods said.
