Theresa A. Ward, 85, of Hanahan, passed away May 10, 2013.

Born in Bristol, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Cruz Almedia and widow to James I. Ward, Jr. Mrs. Ward worked in the Naval Supply Center at Charleston Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1992. She loved to go dancing with her husband, cook for her family, crochet and play bridge with her friends. Mrs. Ward was a member of Divine Redeemer Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Dunn and husband Milton of Sullivans Island; two sons, Jimmy Ward of Hanahan and Mark Ward and wife Debbie of Peachtree City, GA; two sisters, Pat Rybka of Rhode Island and Delores Vaske of Minnesota. Mrs. Ward is also survived by nine grandchildren, Joseph Dunn, Mark Dunn, Harriet Ward, James Ward, Joseph Ward, Mary Frances Ward, Jennifer Samuelson and husband Todd, Ashley Ward and Christopher Ward and a great granddaughter Harper Samuelson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, Hanahan. The family will receive friends prior from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
