Goose Creek man gets max sentence for brutally beating, stabbing wife (postandcourier.com) — A Goose Creek resident has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in state prison for a violent 2022 domestic assault that nearly killed his wife. Jurors in Berkeley County convicted him of high and aggravated domestic violence after hearing graphic testimony and seeing evidence from the attack, while a separate kidnapping charge resulted in acquittal. The victim’s account was central to securing the maximum sentence. 
2. Charleston woman identified as victim in Wednesday morning crash on Rivers Avenue (abcnews4.com) — A woman from Charleston was killed Wednesday morning after her vehicle, traveling east out of Goose Creek on Rivers Avenue, lost control and collided with a commercial truck in North Charleston. Authorities say the crash also caused a diesel spill that required cleanup by state environmental and transportation crews.
3. Northwestern's Tamarion Watkins named SC Mr. Football for 2025 season (thestate.com) — Goose Creek football fans will recognize former standout Tramel Terry on the updated list of South Carolina’s Mr. Football winners, as Northwestern safety Tamarion Watkins earns the 2025 honor. The story highlights Watkins’ dominant season and recaps every Mr. Football recipient since 1995, including Terry’s 2012 award and other Lowcountry stars familiar to local high school followers.
4. Summerville is looking to annex a large swath of Nexton. Rural residents are pushing back. (postandcourier.com) — A major annexation push in Nexton by Summerville could reshape growth just north of Goose Creek, where nearby Carnes Crossroads has already been annexed into the city. Rural Berkeley County residents are pushing back, warning that thousands of new homes could worsen congestion, flooding, and strain on schools and emergency services. Final votes on the controversial plan are expected early next year.
