The retired coach, who still lives in Goose Creek, was celebrated by dozens of alumni as both boys and girls squads showcased the program’s depth and continued success. 
2. Goose Creek Man Gets 20-Year Sentence in Brutal Domestic Violence Case (berkeleyobserver.com) — A Goose Creek resident has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after a Berkeley County jury found him guilty of a brutal 2022 domestic assault that nearly killed his wife. Testimony detailed hours of violence, life‑threatening injuries, and the victim’s eventual escape to medical help, with prosecutors and investigators emphasizing how close she came to losing her life.
3. Summerville is looking to annex a large swath of Nexton. Rural residents are pushing back. (postandcourier.com) — Summerville is moving forward with a major annexation of nearly 738 acres in Nexton, while nearby Carnes Crossroads has already been annexed by Goose Creek, bringing the two cities’ borders close together. Rural residents and some Berkeley County officials worry the plan will increase housing density, traffic, and environmental impacts before a possible final vote in January.
4. Coroner identifies woman killed in ‘major crash' on Rivers Avenue near Goose Creek (counton2.com) — A Charleston woman was killed Wednesday morning after losing control of her car while driving east from Goose Creek and colliding with an 18-wheeler on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. The crash caused a diesel spill in the area, and her employer, Rodney Scott’s BBQ, shared a heartfelt tribute to her warmth and hospitality.
