(postandcourier.com) — Goose Creek City Council has voted down, for now, a proposed ordinance that would have sharply limited where e-bikes can ride and imposed specific safety equipment rules and penalties. Officials and residents raised concerns about restricting commuters who rely on e-bikes to reach work and shops along higher-speed roads. Council will revisit a revised version after a January workshop. 
2. Gators have 'potential' for another stellar run (postandcourier.com) — Goose Creek High’s boys basketball team is off to a 6-0 start and eyeing another deep playoff run after last season’s state title game appearance. Led by standout guard Ja’Quell Brown and several returning all-region players, the Gators face a tough non-conference stretch before Region 7-5A play begins at Cane Bay on January 9.

Landlord woes quietly shut down a Charleston social club and coworking space (postandcourier.com) — Goose Creek’s official Instagram had some fun with Spotify Wrapped by sharing a playful year-in-review of city life, from the most popular events to 30 new businesses opening. The post also spotlighted more than 54,000 minutes of reserved pickleball time and 22 newly adopted goose statues, underscoring how active residents and local programs have been in 2025.
4. 1 dead in ‘major crash' on Rivers Avenue near Goose Creek (counton2.com) — A driver traveling from Goose Creek was involved in a deadly crash Wednesday morning on Rivers Avenue near N.A.D. Road in North Charleston, causing a large diesel spill and hours-long road closure. One person died at the scene, and state environmental and transportation crews were called in while investigators continue to examine what happened.
