City Of Greenville Wins Communications Award

“…and that’s what’s happening in the City of Greenville this week.”

There is a lot happening in the City of Greenville, and the Video Week-in-Review recapping it all earned the City and its Communications & Neighborhood Relations Department a Municipal Achievement Award.

Mayor Knox White accepted the award at the Municipal Association of South Carolina’s annual meeting on Hilton Head Island. The association’s executive director called the video series “a great example to other cities on how consistent communication with residents helps create positive relationships.”

The City of Greenville won the communications category over 26 other cities and towns that submitted projects or initiatives for consideration.

Loren Thomas hosts the videos published each Friday that highlight the accomplishments of city staff and progress on council priorities.

Week in Review began in the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic and served as a way to connect the community to the vital information it needed. Since the first post, the videos have received more than 150,000 views.
