2 Selected from Dutch Fork Middle to Serve on National Advisory Council

Dutch Fork Middle's Trina Dickerson and the National Association of Student Councils' (NASC) National Advisory Council

Dutch Fork Middle School Student Council adviser Trina Dickerson, and student, Leemani Harris, were recently selected to serve on the National Association of Student Councils’ (NASC) National Advisory Council.

The newly selected members of the NASC National Advisory Council gathered in late January for their annual meeting at NASC’s headquarters in Reston, Virginia.  During their orientation, the council members met with JoAnn Bartoletti, NASSP executive director, and other key staff at the association.

Dickerson has been teaching at Dutch Fork Middle for thirteen years.  She teaches eighth-grade science and has been advising the Student Council at Dutch Fork Middle for thirteen years.

She said, “I am very proud of the vital work our student council members do to benefit our school and our community.  It is an honor to represent them and every middle school student council in the nation on the NASC Advisory Board.” 

Leemani, a seventh-grade student at Dutch Fork Middle, serves as a homeroom representative and has been a volunteer for the school's council for three years.

He said, “The trip to that national meeting was great! I was able to give ideas and learn from other Council members.
