Blythewood High School students have garnered national attention for their biodiesel production laboratory, which converts used cooking oil into biodiesel fuel. The media is invited to a ribbon cutting and demonstration on Friday, March 18, which will showcase the lab, which is only the second of its kind in the United States. The Bengal Biodiesel Lab was recently featured on the television show MotorWeek. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3gF86rmvpk An expansion of the biodiesel program was made possible by grants from the South Carolina Energy Office and Green Energy Biofuels.
