4 Arrested in Connection With New Friarsgate Burglaries

The four people are charged with burglary, criminal conspiracy and other charges, according to police.

Irmo Police arrested a 24-year-old and three teens in connection with a string of burglaries in the New Friarsgate neighborhood in June, Irmo Police Chief Brian Buck said.

Juhoun Benson, 18, and Julius Lightfoot, 24, are each charged with criminal conspiracy and three counts first-degree burglary, Buck said.

Benson is also charged with trespass after notice and providing false information to police. Lightfoot is also charged with possession of burglary tools.

Jonathan Benson, 17, is charged with first-degree burglary and providing false information to police.

A 14-year-old who was also arrested will be petitioned to family court for at least two burglaries, Buck said.

Lightfoot, Jonathan Benson, Johoun Benson and the 14-year-old were arrested Wednesday after they returned to an area in violation of a trespass notice, according to Irmo Police. A citizen saw the men and notified the police department.

Officers arrested the three men and the juvenile on charges of trespassing after notice, according to the police department. Investigators later recovered stolen property from the burglaries and charged the suspects with burglary.

Lightfoot was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center Friday on bond totaling $65,000. Juhoun Benson was being held on bond totaling $55,940.

Officers continue to investigate, according to the police department. The three men and the juvenile may face more charges.
