Here's what you need to know:
- Don't know where to vote? Patch has gathered a list of polling locations for our readers in Richland and Lexington counties. You can look up the name of your precinct and its location by clicking here.
- What candidates are on the ballot? Just in case you're still undecided, here's a list of candidates running in the election today.
- What do I need to vote? To vote, bring one of the following types of identification: a voter registration card, a S.C. driver's license or a S.C. ID card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The new photo ID law is not in effect for the Nov. 6 general election. If you registered to vote by mail, are voting for the first time, and did not submit proof of ID with your application, you will need your voter registration card and an additional ID, such as a driver's license, according to the Election Commission.
- If you or someone you know have complaints of election fraud and voting rights abuses, the US Attorney's Office in Columbia and the Justice Department in Washington, DC, are working together to ensure you are able to vote freely and fairly.
