
Robert Gantt, Lexington-Richland 5' board chairman, has been elected vice president of the South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA), the school district announced Tuesday.
Gantt was elected to serve in the position during the association’s annual business meeting earlier this month.
Gantt was first elected to the SCSBA board in 2009 as Region 9 director, which represents Lexington County school boards. He has also served as the association's treasurer.

Locally, Gantt has served on the Lexington-Richland 5 board for 12 years.
The South Carolina School Boards Association is a non-profit organization which serves as a resource and a statewide voice for boards governing the state's 81 school districts.
