The Citadel Announces Gold Star Recipients

Cadet Hunter Ray Pope and Cadet Michael Thomas Gibbons, both of Irmo, recently earned one of The Citadel's top academic honors, a Gold Star, during the fall semester of the 2011-12 academic year.

Gold Stars are presented to students who achieve a 3.7 grade point average or higher during a semester's course work.

Both cadets also will be placed on the Dean's List, a recognition that is given to those cadets and active duty military students whose grade point ratio is 3.2 or higher with no grade below a C for the previous semester's work.
