Leaphart Elementary School's Lego Legends won
first place in the Robot Design portion of the First Lego League Regional Tournament held at Keenan High School on Dec. 3.
Each robot was judged based on the mechanical design, the quality of the programming, and their design process strategies.
The design of the robot is based on the missions the team is required to complete in the robot games. The robot has to be durable, easy to repair, if needed, and able to consistently complete the missions they have made programs for. Judges also look for a unique design.
Teams are judged in the following categories: Robot Design, Research Project, Core Values (how
they work as a team), and Performance (how many missions their robot can complete).
Mrs. White and Mrs. Rhoden are the coaches of the Lego Legends.
