Apple's Steve Jobs Dies at 56

Steve Jobs, known to many as an innovator and visionary, leaves behind a legacy of technological advancements that changed the world.

Steve Jobs, the co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Apple, Inc., died Wednesday at 56.

Jobs, who battled cancer since 2004, is remembered as an innovator and visionary. Some say he was the "Thomas Edison of our time," having overseen the creation of Mac, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad.

A quick Google search will bring up pages of articles about his life and how he changed the way we use technology today.

If you visit the Apple web site, you will see a black and white picture of Jobs in his infamous black shirt.

I have always enjoyed using a Mac. Any creative project I did, whether it was designing graphics or editing films, was on a Mac. I think I was 17 or 18 when I first used one and I have been hooked ever since then. I used one in my high school yearbook class to design pages and it was through that class that I made the decision to do something in journalism.

It's just something special about that machine with its logo of an Apple with a chunk biten out of it illuminating while you're trying to finish that last project for the end of the semester.
