Birds & Blooms Garden Center Opens in Chapin
Birds & Blooms Garden Center in Chapin is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

After a week of damp rainy weather, Jerry and Alpine Zalewski celebrated the grand opening of their garden center, Birds & Blooms, on Saturday, April 6, with friends, family and fellow Chapin business leaders on a beautiful warm, sunny day.
The Zalewskis have over 42 years of experience in the gardening arena and also are known for raising exotic birds. Their new center features an array of trees and shrubbery, annuals, perennials, bedding materials, soil amendments and beautiful hanging baskets.

Birds & Blooms also features the talents of Eric Lavallee, owner of Greenleaf Landscaping. Lavallee did much of the work preparing the garden center site, and he offers his landscaping design services at Birds & Blooms.
As members of the Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce, the Zalewskis participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony that included comments by Congressman Joe Wilson, a presentation by Rep. Chip Huggins (R-Lexington) on behalf of the SC General Assembly, and an invocation by friend Rosemarie Wessinger. Chapin Mayor Stan Shealy was in attendance along with several of the Chamber board members - Ken King of P&K Construction, Susan Horton of Lexington Medical Center and Scott Macfarland of SCANA.
Birds & Blooms Garden Center is located at 261 Chapin Road and is open daily 8 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday.
