Boil Water Advisory Repealed for Ascot Subdivision

Residents no longer have to boil water before use.

A boil water advisory issued Wednesday for the Ascot subdivision in Irmo has been repealed.

Water customers of the Ascot Subdivision between Kennerly Road and Hollingshed located in Lexington County no longer need to boil their water before drinking or cooking.

Following an intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Columbia Water Works, according to a release.

The results of the sampling indicate the system is safe to use.
