Boil Water Alert in Chapin Area Repealed
Residents in the area no longer need to boil their water before using it.

Residents in the Chapin area no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.
The City of Columbia Water Works repealed a boil water alert that was issued Sunday for water customers northwest of the intersection of Old Lexington Highway and Sid Bickley Road, including Chapin and the Amicks Ferry Road area.
The water distribution system was flushed, according to the City of Columbia Water Works. Results of sampling show that the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking.
