Ceremony Scheduled to Honor Irmo Coach Phil Savitz
The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Irmo soccer stadium prior to the start of the first playoff game.
The Irmo community will gather before the start of the boys soccer game Tuesday to celebrate Coach Phil Savitz' 33-year career.
The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Irmo soccer stadium prior to the start of the first playoff game. The team will compete against South Pointe High School at 7 p.m.
This is the last season Savitz will coach the Yellow Jackets. Savitz will coach at Lexington School District 1's new River Bluff High School next school year.

Savitz has won 13 state championships and became the 17th coach in the nation to get more than 600 wins.
He was also inducted into the S.C. Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2011 and was named the Region Coach of the Year 17 times.
