Chapin Chamber Accepting Nominations for Annual Awards

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 18.

 – The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its 22nd Annual Awards & Gala Benefit, which will be held onFriday, November 8 at 7 pm at Timberlake Country Club in Chapin.  This year the theme of the Gala is In The Spotlight in celebration of adding several new award categories to further recognize business and community leaders in Chapin.

Awards will be presented to the Small Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, the Young Professional of the Year, Annie Epting Volunteer of the Year and the Chamber Advocate Award. In addition, the Non-Profit of the Year has been renamed to the Community Service Award of the Year.

Basic criteria for the nominations include a cover page with the full name, title, business or organization name, address and telephone number along with a brief biography of the nominee, a concise statement of the qualities and performance that merit the award, and any supplemental support documentation deemed significant by the nominator, including news clips, letters of recommendation and other evidence of appropriateness for the nomination. Guidelines for each category are provided on the Chamber’s website.

Last year’s honorees were Scott Hanners, owners of Scott Hanners State Farm Insurance, as the Business Person of the Year; Chapin’s We Care Center as the Non-Profit Organization of the Year; and Harvey Coleman of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church as the Chamber’s Annie Epting Volunteer of the Year.
