Chapin Falls to Socastee in State Championship
The Braves topped the Eagles with a 4-3 victory Saturday in the Class 3A championship.

The Chapin High boys tennis team's state title reign ended Saturday as Socastee defeated the Eagles 4-3.
Chapin won the state title for the last three years, but on Saturday in the Class 3A championship match at the Cayce Tennis Center the Braves came out on top.
Socastee was looking forward to the rematch after Chapin beat the Braves in the 2012 semifinals. Saturday's win is the first state title for Socastee since 1982, according to a report from The Sun News.

Singles: Zac Murray defeated Socastee's Noah Johnson 6-2, 6-3; Michael Berk defeated Socastee's Chace Mullin 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles: Jason Flowers/Pat Knight defeated Socastee's Josh Davis/Tommy Lazaroff 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.
