Chapin High Project Moving Forward
Lexington-Richland District 5 receives last approvals to bid project
Plans to advertise bidding for the renovation and expansion project at Chapin High School have been given the green light, according to a press release issued by Lexington-Richland District 5 Friday evening.
The project has been delayed for nearly two years because the district has been in a with board member Kim Murphy. In recent weeks, the district has received favorable court rulings and has been issued the last approvals needed to bid the project, according to the release.
At a school board meeting Monday night, Superintendent Stephen Hefner told board members during his presentation of his plan that he had told district personnel to proceed with the project, which could possibly begin as early as November.
