Chapin Hosts Public Safety Forum

The event will feature three local sheriffs on hand to answer audience questions.

The Greater Chapin Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Center and the Timberlake Plantation Owners Association will host the Chapin Public Safety Forum at 6:30 p.m. on July 25 at Crooked Creek Park (1098 Old Lexington Highway), according to a press release.

The event will feature a panel discussion among the area’s three county sheriffs – Lexington County Sheriff  James Metts , Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott and Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster and Chapin Police Chief Troy Crump, the release stated.

"Too often individuals don’t know who to contact, or worse, they pass along inaccurate information second-hand, potentially compromising law enforcement officials’ ability to pursue an arrest," the release stated.
