Owner BJ Smith said he wants his new store to be more than just a consignment store. In addition to local consignments, it will feature closeouts and High Point samples, all at a fraction of original retail pricing.
Smith decided to change his store's location and name after the owner of the building on Park Terrace decided to redevelop.

“We love the Midlands, and we intend to stay. That’s why we’re buying property for Main Street Home. We want our customers, who have become our friends, to know we plan to be neighbors for years to come,” Smith said. “Additionally, we are changing our name to better reflect who we are and what we strive to be – much more than just a consignment store, and a place where people find treasures to make their homes more comfortable.”
The new store will feature some of the best furniture and home décor manufactured in America and around the world, Smith said. Consignments add to the mix, creating a colorful fusion of new and old that changes daily. With 6,000 active local consignors and a 53-foot trailer of new closeouts and samples arriving weekly, Main Street Home will look different every time a customer walks through the door.
The old location for Consignment 1st will remain open through June 8. Shoppers can expect extra discounts and coupons at the Park Terrace location until the store closes at day’s end on June 8.
