Construction to Start on New Nursery Road Bridge

Construction of a new bridge on Nursery Road near Irmo will start in a few months, according to a report. 

The old bridge that was torn out years ago used to connect Bush River Road to Nursery Road, according to WIS. Construction on a new one is scheduled to start Sept. 1. 

The new bridge will make response times shorter for EMS, sheriff's deputies and firefighters, Lexington County Councilman Brad Matthews told WIS. It also means traffic won't detour into surrounding neighborhoods.
