Coroner: Chapin Woman Drowns in Lake Murray
A Chapin woman was found dead in Lake Murray Friday morning.
A 52-year-old woman drowned early Friday morning in Lake Murrary, the Lexington County Coroner's Office announced.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. at 117 Harding Court in Chapin.
Lynn S. Clary of Chapin was swimming with another person around a floating dock when she failed to surface, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team recovered Clary’s body around 6:20 a.m., eight to 10 feet north of the dock in 12 feet of water, according to a release.
Preliminary results of an autopsy performed Friday showed that Clary died from freshwater drowning.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
