Coroner Identifies Batesburg-Leesville Woman in Single-Vehicle Accident
Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a single-vehicle accident in Lexington County.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who died after a single-vehicle accident Friday morning.
Coroner Harry O. Harman identified Bobby Jean Penrod, 39, of Batesburg-Leesville, as the driver of the vehicle.
The accident occurred around 2:55 a.m. on US 178, three miles from Batesburg-Leesville, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Penrod was traveling east when her vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
Penrod, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle, according to the coroner’s office.

She was transported to Lexington Medical Center and was pronounced at 4:13 a.m. from the injuries she received in the accident, Harman said.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
