The motorcycle driver who died after running into another car on Chapin Road Sunday afternoon was Patrick Kemp Cave, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office. Cave, 32, of Columbia was driving east on Chapin Road around 4:35 p.m. when he illegally tried to pass a car in front of him, Lance Cpl. Sunny Collins said. He ran into a 2010 Pontiac that was traveling west.  Cave was not wearing a helmet, Collins said. No charges will be filed because Cave was trying to pass illegally, Collins said. The S.C. Highway Patrol is still investigating the wreck.
