Update: Troopers Locate Truck in Fatal Hit and Run

Authorities still searching for the suspected driver, according to reports.

Update: Friday, Feb. 10 -- The S.C. Highway Patrol has reportedly found the truck suspected in a hit and run that killed a Pelion woman on Wednesday, WIS reports.

So far, authorities have yet to locate the suspected driver of the truck, Romero Romero, Jr. (pictured).

Earlier story: The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died Wednesday after being struck by a pickup truck near Pelion.

Coroner Harry O. Harmon identified Irma L. Hudson, 59, of Pelion, as the victim who died Wednesday after she was struck by a gray 2000 GMC pickup truck around 6:40 p.m. on S.C. 302 near Pelion.

Harmon said Hudson was leaving the Lexington County dump site on Pine Street when she left her vehicle to pick up some trash cans that fell out of the back of her vehicle.

Hudson was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries she received.

Investigators say the truck had a Texas license plate numbered BC 49014 and will have damage to the center and right front of the truck. The GMC logo will be missing from the grill on the front of the truck.

The S.C. Highway Patrol has identified Romero Romero Jr. as the suspected driver.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
