Council to Approve Final Design of New Irmo Park
Irmo Town Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The final design plan for Irmo's new park will be presented at town council's regular meeting Tuesday.
Council members are set to take a vote on the design of the 14-acre park after a couple of revisions have been made to address concerns from residents in the area and suggestions from council.
Also on the agenda is discussion of the park's buffer size, which has prompted a petition drive from residents.

The design consultant has said there is a 50 or 80 feet wide buffer in some areas on the current design but residents are aksing council to maintain a 100-foot natural buffer around the entire park.
Residents have said they are concerned about safety, their privacy, the disruption of the natural habitat and noise levels when the park is being used for events such as the Okra Strut Festival.

Council will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Municipal Building, 7300 Woodrow Street.
