Deadline Extended for Pink Glove Dance Contest

Voters now have until Nov. 2 to vote for Lexington Medical Center in the Pink Glove Dance Competition.

Medline, the medical manufacturing company holding the contest, extended the deadline after technical difficulties with their website at the start of voting. 

"They had so many people coming to their site to vote in the first few days that their site couldn't handle it," said Jennifer Wilson, public relations manager for Lexington Medical Center.

Despite a delay in voting, Lexington Medical Center is leading the competition with more than 10,000 votes. Their closest competitor is the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with close to 6,000 votes. 

Although Lexington Medical still has about 4,000 more votes than Penn State, Wilson is still asking people to vote and spread the word. 

"They're gaining on us," she said.
