Dec. 7: Remembering Pearl Harbor 70 Years Later
On Dec. 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor, the United States naval base on Oahu Island, Hawaii, was attacked by the Japanese Imperial Navy during World War II. More than 2,000 Americans died in the surprise attack and another 1,000 were injured.

In remembrance of Pearl Harbor, Patch has gathered a quick list of sites you should visit to either learn more about the 70th anniversary of the attack or to share with those who are not old enough to remember this day.

The Moving Image Research Collections at the University of South Carolina has Movietone footage from a cameraman that was in Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7.
On Dec. 8, 1941, Franklin D. Roosevelt addressed the nation calling Dec. 7 "a date which will live in infamy" and called on Congress to join the war.
