Deputies: 4 Charged in El Toro Murder

Richland County Sheriff's deputies have arrested four men after a security guard was shot and killed on Aug. 25 at a bar in St. Andrews.

Four men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a .

The following were arrested and charged with murder or accessory after the fact of murder:

  • Gerald Haltiwanger, 24, charged with murder
  • Tyrobia Green, 25, charged with accessory after the fact of murder
  • Terrell Vaughn, 26, charged with accessory after the fact of murder
  • Jonathan Sterling, 21, charged with accessory after the fact of murder

The Richland County Sheriff’s Fugitive Task Force and Investigators arrested Haltiwanger on Wednesday, while Green, Vaughn, and Sterling turned themselves in to authorities on Thursday, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies say on Aug. 25, Jimmy Moti, 42, of West Columbia, and another security guard refused to let the four men into El Toro Mexican Bar and Grill after questioning the authenticity of one of their IDs. 

Deputies said the men fired several shots at Moti before fleeing the scene.

Moti died from complications of a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts. 

All four men are being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
