Deputies: More Than $800 in Electronics Stolen from Truck

Deputies say someone broke into a truck in Chapin and stole a phone, a camera and other electronics.

Richland County deputies are looking for someone who broke into a truck in Chapin and stole more than $800 in electronics. 

Between 9 p.m. June 17 and 7:25 a.m. June 18, someone broke the back driver-side window of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck at 193 Lakeport Drive n Chapin, according to the sheriff's department. 

A black 511 bag, gray RCA voice recorder, a SanDisk 8GB flash drive, a SanDisk 4GB flash drive, a black Blackberry phone with a charger and a silver Cannon camera were stolen, according to the sheriff's department. Those items were valued at about $880. The damage to the window is valued at $100.

The person or people who broke into the truck were caught on surveillance driving a dark-colored, newer-model Mercedes with tan leather material, according to the sheriff's department.
