Deputies Search for Suspect in Car Theft, Fraud

Richland County deputies are looking for a man they say stole a woman's car, purse, cash and debit card. 

The man stole the woman's 2002 Nissan Altima from her home on Ivy Garden Lane near Irmo between 3 a.m. April 30 and 9 a.m. May 1, according to the sheriff's department. Her purse, cash and debit card were inside the car.

When the woman called her bank to tell them about her stolen debit card, they told her it had been used at three locations:

• the Shell gas station at 334 Harbison Boulevard (charges pending)
• the Exxon gas station at 2220 Broad River Road for $91
• the Raceway gas station at 2114 Broad River Road for $20

The man using the woman's debit card was captured on surveillance cameras at the Shell gas station.
