Update: Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Hotel Shooting
Police have arrested a man they say shot two men at the Country Inn and Suites Thursday night.
Update: A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with a shooting that sent two men to the hospital.
Kenneth Daniel Toland, 23, of Columbia, is charge with attempted murder after he allegedly shot two men in the upper torsos in the parking lot of the Country Inn and Suites on Piney Grove Road.
Police said around 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, Toland and at least one other man —who has yet to be identified — drove to the Country Inn parking lot to meet with three men.

While meeting, the men got into a fight and two of the men were shot, detectives said.
Denzell Labrew, 18, and Hakiim Rasheed Pope, Jr., 24, both of Columbia, were taken to a local hospital.

Pope was treated at the hospital and released Thursday night. Labrew remains hospitalized to receive treatment for his non life-threatening injuries.
Richland County deputies arrested Toland after seeing the sedan witnesses described as the vehicle he used to leave the scene.
Toland is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting and the motive.

The incident happened around 7:10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Country Inn and Suites on Piney Grove Road near Interstate 26.
Both men were shot in their upper toros, police said.
Detectives are working to determine a motive for the shooting and are pursuing leads concerning the identity of a suspect.
Both men were transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.
One man's injuries were not life-threatening. The other man was undergoing surgery Thursday. Their conditions are not known.
