Dist. 5 Cross Country Teams Compete for State Title
Irmo, Chapin and Dutch Fork high schools compete at Sandhills Saturday

Three area cross country teams will compete at this year's State Cross Country meet Saturday at the Sandhills Research Center.
Irmo, Chapin and Dutch Fork high schools' girls' and boys' teams will compete at the S.C. High School League meet scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
The center is located at 900 Clemson Road, Columbia, and admission is $5 per car.

Dutch Fork's boys' team ranks thirds in the state.
In class 4A, Dutch Fork comes in third in the top 10 teams. Chapin is ranked five out of 10 in class 3A.

For girls, Dutch Fork (9) and Irmo (10) are among the top 10 in class 4A.
In class 3A, Chapin comes in at number nine.
In addition to team championships, runners will be looking for individual championships as well. Roland Hakes (Dutch Fork) and Heath Lorick (Chapin) are among the top 10 males. Hakes and Lorick ranked first and ninth, respectively.
The teams are scheduled to compete at the following times:
- Class 3A Girls, 11 a.m.; Boys, 11:30 a.m.
- Class 4A Girls, noon; Boys, 12:30 p.m.
