Potential kindergarten students must be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013.  Parents of children meeting this eligibility deadline should bring the following items to the registration:

  • Your child's legal birth certificate
  • A current South Carolina Certificate of Immunization, or a South Carolina Certificate of Medical or Religious Exemption
  • A property tax receipt or a rental lease showing all occupants
  • At least two utility bills showing the child’s correct home address

At the registration, parents or guardians will complete an application and questionnaire, and will schedule their child’s screening date which occurs in either late May 2013 or July/August 2013.

This program serves qualified four year old children from throughout the district and stresses basic school readiness skills. To be selected, children must meet established requirements. Therefore, parents should be aware that a request for screening does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
