District 5 Candidate Forum Held Today

The first of three forums for six candidates running for Lexington-Richland 5 school board will be held today at 6:30 p.m.

Six candidates are running for school board on Nov. 6, so the District 5 Teacher Forum and School Improvement Councils have organized three non-partisan public forums.

The first forum will be held at Irmo Middle School, 6051 Westcott Road, Columbia.

In November, voters will elect two candidates in Lexington County and one candidate in Richland County.

  • Jan Hammond (incumbent), Jondy Loveless, Beth Burn Watson (incumbent) and Ed Yates in Lexington County
  • Melissa Cole and Robert Gantt (incumbent) in Richland County

Guests can submit questions in writing at the door, prior to each forum, but no questions will be taken from the audience during the event. 

If you miss today's forum, the next one is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Chapin Middle School.
