“The NAPT certifications afford me a new perspective regarding successful programs nationwide and a network of transportation professionals willing to share ideas dedicated to ensuring safe pupil transportation in a dynamic and changing profession,” Weissman said.
The NAPT Professional Certification Program was established in 1989 to recognize the achievements and expertise of individuals in various administrative and support positions within the pupil transportation field. Administrative, supervisory and support personnel involved in pupil transportation are eligible for professional certification.

Weissman completed more than 120 hours of academic study and examinations to earn the credentials, according to an NAPT release. He also underwent an objective peer review of his education, career experience, achievements, and overall knowledge in the field of pupil transportation operations.
Nationwide, only 144 individuals have earned the Director of Pupil Transportation credential. Weissman is one of just five professionals in the U.S. to hold both that certification and the Special Needs Transportation certification.
District Superintendent Dr. Stephen Hefner said, “Mr. Weissman consistently demonstrates excellence. He anticipates problems and resolves them before they have a negative impact on students and families."
"He has built a great team of bus drivers and support staff. Together, they provide superior service to District Five. We congratulate him on this exceptional accomplishment.”
