Dreher Shoals Dam at Lake Murray to Close for Walk

This year's Battle on the Dam, an annual walk across the Lake Murray Dam to encourage active lifestyles, will be held Saturday.

Officers with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Division, Bike Patrol and South Carolina Highway Patrol will temporary close S.C. 6 to traffic at the Dreher Shoals Dam at Lake Murray between 8:50 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Motorists should avoid driving on S.C. 6 near Lake Murray in the Lexington and Irmo communities on Saturday morning.

The District Five Foundation for Educational Excellence organizes the annual walk.
