Bark to the Park

This Saturday, Pawmetto Lifeline will hold its Bark to the Park Walk and Festival. 

The event, which benefits homeless pets in the Midlands, will start at 9 a.m. in Finlay Park. 

The festival features pet competitions, entertainment and educational booths as well as the K9s in Flight Frisbee Dog Sports Show.

Admission is $10 for each adult and $5 for children ages 5-12. Children age 5 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online until 5 p.m. Friday or at the gate. 

If you register for the walk, festival admission is included.

The one-mile walk begins at 10:30 a.m. Walkers and their pets will make their way through downtown Columbia.

More than 18,000 dogs and cats are euthanized in just two area shelters each year, according to Pawmetto Lifeline. All of the event's proceeds will help shelter pets in the Midlands.
