Salvation Army Irmo Corps 10 Years of Ministry

Major Richard Watts planted in June 2002 in an effort to reach out to people in the Irmo community. Major Watts and his wife, Major Virginia Watts, will return to The Salvation Army Irmo Corps on June 9-10 for a special celebration to mark 10 years of ministry.

The anniversary weekend will begin with a Men’s Club sponsored cookout on Saturday at 5 p.m. which is open to the public. Activities will follow, including a night full of Salvation Army church music, where former band mates who once served together in the music ministry at the Irmo Corps will reunite.

Major Watts, who like all Salvation Army officers is an ordained minister, will preach the message on Sunday, June 10 at the 11 a.m. service. Seven senior soldiers and two junior soldiers will be enrolled.
